The RVS-02-360 records footage from all cameras onto SD cards. This article covers how to format your SD cards, how recording works across multiple cards, and how to access saved footage.
Formatting Your SD Cards
New SD cards need to be formatted before use.
- Insert the SD card into the system.
- Go to Storage Management > Format in the system menu.
- Each SD card must be formatted separately using its own format button.
You do not need all four cards inserted at the same time to format them, but it is recommended to insert all cards from the start to ensure they are set up consistently.
How Recording Works
- Each SD card records footage from all cameras, not just one.
- When one card is full, the system automatically switches to the next available card.
- If you remove a card while the system is actively recording to it, that card's footage may be corrupted. Recording will continue on the remaining cards.
Accessing Your Footage
To play back footage after removing a card:
- Insert the SD card into any computer and access the files directly.
- The USB port on the unit is used for exporting calibration files, not for footage playback.
Common Issues
| Symptom | What to check |
|---|---|
| The system is not recording | Confirm the SD card is fully inserted and has been formatted through the system menu |
| The footage is corrupted on a card | The card was likely removed while actively recording; avoid removing cards while the system is running |
| Cannot play the footage on the computer | Make sure you are reading the SD card directly, not using the USB port on the unit |
