Basic Setup Instructions
For detailed installation steps, refer to the InView 360 Installation Guide available on the product page at rearviewsafety.com
- Mount the cameras on all four sides of the vehicle — front, rear, driver side, and passenger side. Side cameras should be mounted as straight and level as possible for accurate stitching.
- Connect the cameras to the matching labeled inputs on the ECU.
- Install the hard drive in the ECU's hard drive bay.
- Wire the ECU to a 12V–36V power source. Connect the ground wire to the bare chassis metal.
- Connect the ECU to the monitor using the included video cable.
- Connect trigger wires — reverse, left turn, right turn, and front triggers for automatic view switching.
- Run calibration using the included calibration mats. Place mats approximately 6 inches from all sides of the vehicle and follow the on-screen prompts.

Common Issues and How to Fix Them
No power — system won't turn on
- Check all wiring connections at the ECU
- Verify voltage is between 12V and 36V at the ECU power input
- Check the inline fuse and replace it if blown
- Confirm the ground wire is connected to the bare chassis metal
No video display on the monitor
- Confirm the monitor is set to the correct input — select VGA or the appropriate AV input
- Check all video cables between the ECU and monitor for damage or loose connections
- Try a different video cable to rule out a cable fault
- Confirm the ECU is powered on
Flickering or distorted image
- Check all camera connections at the ECU — unplug and firmly reconnect each one
- Confirm the power supply is stable — voltage fluctuations can cause image issues
- Test each camera individually by disconnecting the others to isolate a faulty camera
- If one camera consistently shows distortion, the camera or its cable may need to be replaced
Stitching looks misaligned or has visible seams: The system needs to be recalibrated.

AI detection is not triggering
- Confirm AI features are enabled in the ECU settings menu
- Check that the detection zones are configured correctly for your vehicle size
- Confirm the cameras are positioned correctly, and the view is unobstructed
Common Questions
Do all four cameras need to be connected? Yes — all four cameras must be connected and working for the full 360° stitched view to function correctly.
Can I skip calibration? No. Calibration is required for the stitched image to align correctly. Skipping calibration will result in a misaligned or distorted surround view.
Does this system record video? Yes — the RVS-03-360 / 360-K1EA includes built-in recording to a 2.5" hard drive supporting up to 2TB of storage.
Is this system FMVSS-111 compliant? Yes — the rear camera activates within 2 seconds of ignition to meet federal backup camera compliance requirements.
