Here's how to find, playback, and export footage recorded on your MobileMule DVR.
Play back footage on your DVR monitor
- From the main menu, go to Search or Playback.
- Select the date you want to review.
- Select the camera channel you want to view.
- Choose a time range and press Play.
- Use the on-screen controls to pause, rewind, or fast-forward.
Export footage to a computer using your SD card
- Power off the DVR and remove the SD card.
- Insert the SD card into your computer using an SD card reader.
- Download the free RVS playback software at rearviewsafety.com/software.
- Open the software and select the footage files from your SD card.
Note: DVR footage files won't play in standard media players. You need the RVS playback software to view them.
Export footage using a USB drive
- Insert a USB drive into the DVR's USB port.
- In the Search / Playback menu, find the footage clip you want to export.
- Select the clip and choose Backup or Export.
- Select your USB drive as the destination and confirm.
- Use the RVS playback software on your computer to view the exported file.
Tip: Make sure your USB drive is formatted as FAT32. DVRs may not recognize drives formatted as exFAT or NTFS.
Access footage remotely through MobileMule Live
If your DVR is connected to cellular or WiFi, you can access footage remotely through the MobileMule Live portal.
- Log in at dvr.mobilemulelive.com/808gps/login.html
- Select your vehicle.
- Navigate to the remote playback section.
Note: Remote footage access requires your DVR to have an active cellular data plan or WiFi connection.
Common problems
I can't find footage from a specific time: Your DVR records in a continuous loop and automatically overwrites the oldest footage when the SD card is full. If the footage you need is older, it may have already been overwritten. Upgrading to a larger SD card will help you retain footage for longer periods.
The playback software won't open my file: Make sure you're using the correct RVS software version for your DVR model. Download the latest version at rearviewsafety.com/software.
My USB export shows 0 files or fails: Check that your USB drive is formatted as FAT32.
Remote playback is buffering or won't load: Your DVR needs a strong cellular or WiFi signal for remote video. Try accessing footage when the vehicle is in an area with a better signal.
