Connecting your MobileMule DVR to WiFi lets you access live video and GPS tracking through the MobileMule Live portal when your vehicle is within range of a known WiFi network. This is a great option for vehicles that stay in a yard or depot with WiFi coverage.
Before You Start
Make sure you have:
- Your WiFi network name (SSID) and password
- Your DVR login credentials (default username: ADMIN / password: 888888)
Important: Your WiFi network name cannot contain spaces. If it does, you will need to rename your router or hotspot before connecting. Use underscores instead of spaces (example: My_Network instead of My Network).
Steps
- Log in to your DVR (username: ADMIN/password: 888888)
- Go to Peripherals > Wi-Fi Setup
- Set Enable to ON
- Set GET IP Mode to DHCP
- Press Search to scan for available WiFi networks
- Select your network from the list
- Enter your WiFi password
- Press Save
Confirm Your Connection
After saving, press the blue Info button on your remote to open the System Info screen. Look for these values to confirm your DVR is connected:
| Field | What You Want to See |
|---|---|
| WiFi-M | EXIST |
| WiFi-SIGN | A value greater than 0 (higher is stronger) |
| Center-L | SUCCESSFUL |
If Center-L shows SUCCESSFUL, your DVR is connected to the MobileMule Live portal and ready to use.
Common Issues
WiFi network not showing up in the scan: Your DVR may only support 2.4GHz networks. If your router broadcasts both 2.4GHz and 5GHz, make sure you are selecting the 2.4GHz network.
Cannot save settings: Confirm your WiFi network name has no spaces. Rename the network if needed and try again.
WiFi connects, but Center-L still shows NO LINK: Your DVR is connected to WiFi, but cannot reach the MobileMule Live portal. Contact our support team for help with portal connectivity settings.
WiFi was working, but stopped: Check whether the router password or network name has changed. Re-enter the WiFi settings with the updated information.
