How to Check Your DVR Firmware Version

Your DVR's firmware version tells you what software is running on the unit. Knowing your firmware version is useful when troubleshooting, checking for updates, or contacting support.

Steps

  1. Make sure your DVR is powered on and showing the live camera view
  2. Press the blue Info button on your DVR remote
  3. The System Info screen will appear on your monitor

The System Info screen displays your firmware version along with other useful diagnostic information about your DVR's current status.

What's on the System Info Screen

Field What It Tells You
SW Your current firmware version
HW Your hardware version
IMEI Your DVR's unique device ID
SN Your DVR's serial number
GPS-M GPS status — INVALID means no GPS lock
4G-STATE Cellular connection — NO DIAL means not connected
4G-SIGN Cellular signal strength
SIM CARD SIM detection — NONE means no SIM detected
CMS Portal connection — NO LINK means not connected
WIFI-SIGN WiFi signal strength

Common Issues

The blue Info button is not responding

  • Check that your remote has working batteries
  • Point the remote directly at the DVR's IR receiver (small dark window on the front of the unit)
  • Try pressing the button again from a shorter distance

The System Info screen appears, but all fields are blank

  • Your DVR may still be starting up — wait 60 seconds and press the Info button again
