Before ordering a replacement camera, monitor, cable, or accessory for your standard RVS backup camera system, you need to confirm compatibility. Using the wrong part is the most common reason a new camera shows No Signal after installation.
Step 1 — Identify your signal type
RVS backup camera systems use one of three signal types. Your replacement part must match your existing system.

Matching connectors does NOT mean compatibility. Always confirm signal type first.
Step 2 — Identify your connector type
Most RVS backup camera systems use a 4-pin round connector. Before ordering, confirm:
- How many pins your connector has (4-pin is most common)
- Whether the connector is male or female at the camera end and monitor end
- The cable length you need for your vehicle
Step 3 — Match your replacement part
Replacing a camera:
- Must match your monitor's signal type (AHD, CVBS, or FHD)
- Must use the same connector type as your existing cable
- Check the camera's field of view and mounting style matches your application
Replacing a monitor:
- Must match your camera's signal type
- FHD monitors are the most flexible — they support FHD, AHD, and CVBS cameras
- Check the monitor screen size and mounting options fit your cab
Replacing a cable:
- Must match the connector type on both your camera and monitor
- Use the correct length for your vehicle — avoid excess slack but allow enough for routing
- For runs over 20 feet, consider a signal booster or amplified cable to prevent signal loss
Replacing an OEM harness:
- OEM harnesses are vehicle-specific — confirm your vehicle make, model, and year before ordering
