Choosing the correct side camera for your FedEx or P&D vehicle is important to ensure compatibility with your existing system. Using the wrong camera can result in No Signal or poor image quality, even if the connector physically fits.
Step 1 — Identify your system type
Before selecting a replacement camera, confirm your system type. Your replacement camera must match your existing system.
| System Type | Camera Required |
|---|---|
| AHD system | AHD camera |
| Standard (CVBS) system | Standard resolution (CVBS) camera |
| FHD system | FHD-compatible camera |
Not sure what type of system you have?
Start here: How to Identify Your FedEx Camera System (AHD vs CVBS vs FHD)
Step 2 — Check your existing camera's part number
Look at the label on your current camera for a part number. The part number tells you the signal type.
AHD cameras:
- "AHD" appears in the part number (example: PD-775R-AHD)
- Part number ends in "-AHD" or "-1"
FHD cameras:
- "FHD" or "CA" appears in the part number
Standard CVBS cameras:
- No AHD or FHD in the part number
- If there is no signal type indicator, it is likely a standard CVBS camera
Step 3 — Confirm your connector type
Most FedEx P&D systems use a 4-pin round connector. Before ordering, confirm:
- Your existing camera uses a 4-pin connector
- The replacement camera uses the same connector type
Important: Matching connectors does NOT guarantee compatibility. Always verify the signal type first. An AHD and a CVBS camera can use the same 4-pin connector, but will not work together.
Always match both:
- Signal type (AHD, CVBS, or FHD)
- Connector type
Step 4 — Use the connection diagrams
If you are unsure how your system is wired or which camera connects where, use the FedEx P&D Connection Diagrams to verify your setup before ordering.

Common ordering mistakes to avoid
| Mistake | Result |
|---|---|
| Ordering an AHD camera for a CVBS monitor | No Signal |
| Mixing FHD with a non-FHD system | No display |
| Assuming all 4-pin cameras are interchangeable | No Signal or poor image quality |
| Not checking the part number before ordering | Wrong camera, return required |
