This article covers troubleshooting for the current FHD FedEx P&D systems. These are the systems shipped with new orders placed on the RVS website. If you have an older system, see Tech Support: FedEx P&D Legacy Systems (CVBS and AHD) instead.
Identify the System First
Current systems include:
| Kit SKU | Monitor | Signal Type | Supports AHD Cameras |
|---|---|---|---|
| PD-6137Q-FHD | PD-6137Q-FHD | FHD only | No |
| MN-M147D | MN-M147D | FHD, AHD, CVBS | Yes |
| PD-96D | PD-96D | AHD | No |
Important: The MN-M147D was introduced specifically because it supports multiple resolutions. Customers who previously had a PD-6137Q-FHD and received an MN-M147D as a replacement may experience issues if they do not update their setup. See the most common issues below.
Most Common Issues with the MN-M147D
Issue 1: Cameras Connected to Wrong Input Ports
The MN-M147D has a different port layout than the PD-6137Q-FHD. Customers who swap monitors without reconnecting cameras to the correct ports will get no image, or cameras displaying on the wrong channels.
What to do:
- Disconnect all cameras
- Reconnect each camera to the correct input port on the MN-M147D
- Refer to the FedEx P&D Connection Diagrams for the correct port layout
Issue 2: Monitor Not Receiving Power
The MN-M147D power harness connector must be pushed in firmly until it clicks into place. If it is not fully seated, the monitor will not power on.
What to do:
- Unplug the power harness connector from the monitor
- Firmly push it back in until you hear and feel a click
- Check whether the monitor powers on
No Image on Monitor
Step 1: Is the screen blue or black?
Blue screen means the monitor is powered on but not receiving a camera signal. Go to Step 2.
Black screen means the monitor is not powering on. Go to Step 3.
Step 2: Blue Screen
Work through these checks in order:
Check camera input ports first -- especially if you recently switched from a PD-6137Q-FHD to an MN-M147D. Reconnect cameras to the correct ports and retest.
Check component compatibility:
| Monitor | Compatible Cameras | Incompatible |
|---|---|---|
| PD-6137Q-FHD | FHD cameras only (CA-770M1, CA-775M1L, CA-775M1R) | AHD/CVBS cameras |
| MN-M147D | FHD, AHD, and CVBS cameras | None -- Supports all |
| PD-96D (Discontinued) | AHD cameras only | FHD and CVBS cameras |
If components are mismatched, replace with compatible cameras.
Test the camera:
- Cover the sensor at the bottom of the lens and cup the camera -- check if infrared lights illuminate red
- If IR lights illuminate: test the camera on a different input channel
- If IR lights do not illuminate: test with a known working camera
- If known working camera displays an image: original camera is defective -- Request an RMA
- If known working camera does not display an image: possible cable or harness malfunction -- Request an RMA
Step 3: Black Screen
- Check that the power harness connector is fully seated -- push in firmly until it clicks
- Disconnect all components, wait 1 minute, reconnect
- Change the power source -- use the vehicle battery or an external power supply
- If still no power: defective cable or harness -- Request an RMA
Sensor System Compatibility
| Monitor | Compatible ECU | Incompatible |
|---|---|---|
| PD-6137Q-FHD | SN-U16 | 116-ECU-AHD-PD |
| MN-M147D | SN-U16 |
116-ECU-PD 116-ECU-AHD-PD |
| PD-96D (Discontinued) | 116-ECU-AHD-PD | SN-U16 |
Note: SN-U16 is only compatible with the MN-M147D. If a customer with a PD-96D or PD-6137Q-FHD has an SN-U16 installed, the sensors will not work.
If sensors are not triggering on any compatible system:
- Confirm the yellow trigger wire is connected to a 12-24V power source
- Verify the correct ECU is installed per the table above
MN-M147D Power Harness Wire Reference
The MN-M147D uses the PW-M144 power harness, which has different trigger wire color assignments than the standard PD-504 harness used on other systems.
| Wire | Function |
|---|---|
| Red | Power |
| Black | Ground |
| White | CH1 - Left |
| Blue | CH2 - Right |
| Yellow | CH3 - Back |
| Brown | CH4 - Not Used |
Common Issues Table
| Symptom | Likely Cause | What to Do |
|---|---|---|
| No image after monitor swap | Cameras in wrong input ports | Reconnect cameras to correct ports on MN-M147D |
|
Monitor not powering on (Blue screen) |
Power harness not fully seated | Push connector in firmly until it clicks |
| Blue screen | Wrong camera type setting | Confirm that the cameras and sensor ECU are compatible |
| Blue screen | Incompatible camera for monitor | Check compatibility table above |
| Blue screen | Defective camera | Test with known working camera; Request RMA if confirmed |
| Black screen | Defective cable or harness | Request RMA |
| Sensors not triggering | Wrong ECU for monitor | Check ECU compatibility table above |
| Sensors not triggering | Yellow wire not connected to power | Connect yellow trigger wire to 12-24V source |
| Wrong camera on wrong channel | Wiring mismatch on MN-M147D | Verify against PW-M144 harness wire colors |
