This article covers troubleshooting for legacy FedEx P&D systems. Legacy systems include the original CVBS generation (PD-062710) and AHD generation (PD-062710-1, RVS-162710-K-1, PD-062710-AHD-K, RVS-162710-AHD-K). If you placed a new order recently, see Tech Support: FedEx P&D Current Systems (FHD) instead.
Identify the System First
Before troubleshooting, confirm which generation you have. Review the kit SKU or check the monitor model:
| Monitor | System | Signal Type |
|---|---|---|
| PD-6137Q | PD-062710 | CVBS |
| 6137Q-AHD-MON-PD | PD-062710-1 / RVS-162710-K-1 | AHD |
| 96D-MON-PD | PD-062710-AHD-K / RVS-162710-AHD-K | AHD |
If you cannot identify the system, see How to Identify Your FedEx Camera System.
No Image on Monitor
Step 1: Is the screen blue or black?
Blue screen means the monitor is powered on but not receiving a camera signal. Go to Step 2.
Black screen means the monitor is not powering on. Go to Step 5.
Step 2: Check Component Compatibility (Blue Screen)
All components must match the signal type. Mixed CVBS and AHD components will cause a blue screen.
- CVBS systems: all part numbers should not include "-AHD" or "-1"
- AHD systems: all part numbers should include "-AHD" or end in "-1"
If components are mismatched, replace the incompatible part with the correct signal type.
Step 3: Verify Camera Type Setting (Blue Screen)
The monitor camera type setting must match the cameras installed.
Navigate to: Menu > Camera Type
| System Type | Correct Setting |
|---|---|
| CVBS (PD-062710) | CVBS NTSC |
| AHD (PD-062710-1 or AHD-K) | 720P 30fps |
If the setting is wrong, change it and check whether the image appears.
Step 4: Test the Camera (Blue Screen, Correct Setting)
If the camera type setting is correct and the screen is still blue:
- Check that the camera's infrared lights illuminate red when powered on. Cover the sensor at the bottom of the lens and cup the camera to test.
- If IR lights illuminate: test the camera on a different input channel
- If IR lights do not illuminate: test with a known working camera
- If the known working camera displays an image: the original camera is defective -- Request an RMA
- If the known working camera does not display an image: possible camera cable or power harness malfunction -- Request an RMA
Step 5: Black Screen (Monitor Not Powering On)
- Disconnect all components and wait 1 minute, then reconnect
- Change the power source -- use the vehicle battery or an external power supply
- If still no power: check for defective camera cable or power harness -- Request an RMA
Sensor System Issues
If the sensors are not triggering:
- Confirm the yellow trigger wire of the sensor harness is connected to a 12-24V power source
- Verify the ECU module matches the system signal type (116-ECU-PD for CVBS, 116-ECU-AHD-PD for AHD)
- Check that the Y-adapter matches the system signal type
Common Issues Table
| Symptom | Likely Cause | What to Do |
|---|---|---|
| Blue screen | Mixed signal type components | Verify all parts match signal type |
| Blue screen | Wrong camera type setting | Set to CVBS NTSC or 720P 30fps |
| Blue screen | Defective camera | Test with a known working camera; Request an RMA if confirmed |
| Black screen | Power issue | Disconnect/reconnect; change power source |
| Black screen | Defective cable or harness | Request an RMA |
| Sensors not triggering | Yellow wire not connected to power | Connect yellow trigger wire to 12-24V source |
| Sensors not triggering | Wrong ECU module | Confirm ECU matches system signal type |
